Mom bakes, too!

I thought I should document this momentous occasion that took place last Sunday. I baked cookies! As many of you may have read or heard me say before, I don't bake. The reason behind this is my total and complete lack of self control. I eat not only ridiculous amounts of the dough, but I can't stop myself from eating scary amounts of the end result. This is the case even if I don't really like whatever was baked. If it's there, I have to eat it until it's gone. If there's a treat we want, Jason usually bakes it. We've found it works best if we 1/2 the batch and then freeze a bunch or we give the neighbors most of it. For this reason, Lucy (and Jason) get very excited when I make cookies.

Go Mags! I sure miss our cookie fests (even though it only happened like twice, it seems like it was a huge ongoing tradition!)

I'm glad you are feeling better & that the bank robber tactics have saved your family.

Those are CUTE pics! Graham is getting sooo sooo big! They grow too fast! I can totally relate. Sometimes I will make 1/4 batch of dough (minus baking powder/soda) and just eat it! MMMM! But I have to behave if I want to lose any weight Ha Ha! Thanks for sharing!

I feel the same way about baking! I now buy the cooking dough, freeze it and pull out enough to make about six cookies and then I refreeze it. This way Kenedy and Mike get a quick baked treat without all the mess and I don't get huge from eating 3 dozen cookies! ha ha! I hope you are feeling better!

Maggie, I found you through Niki's site. I was so excited. Blogs are the greatest for keeping in touch with people you never see! Glad to see you are around, and I hope you are feeling better. I don't think it is fair that moms can get sick. Hang in there.

My, what self control! Those cookies look good. Since I've been pregnant I eat anything sweet in sight.
I'm glad you're feeling better. Brent and Bridger are both sick. I'm hoping they don't spread the love. It wouldn't be fair to be super prego AND sick!

You have such will power! I know that I will eat all the cookies or whatever it is we're baking...but I still do it all the time. I need to learn from you! Glad to see that you are feeling a little better. That's great no one else caught it!

Those cookies look REALLY good. I think my favorite treat would have to be chocolate chip cookies. Good for you for baking. And I am exactly the same way with the eating too much dough thing. I end up not liking whatever I baked because I ate way too much. Oh, but I still eat a billion cookies anyway. I am so excited that you guys get to see Blaine and the fam in just over a week! And so jealous that I can't be there. I guess I am doing my own "marathon."

Hey Maggie- thanks for "coming out" and making yourself known! It's been fun to read up on you and your family. Your kids are darling- Lucy looks just like you! Good luck on the 1/2- I saw your post about music and I love to run to anything from Blink 182 or Fall Out Boy. Are you okay if I link you on my blog?

Great job on the homemade cookies. I've given up on making them from scratch and just buy the frozen Otis Spunkmeyer ones from Costco. They are the BEST cookie I've ever had. This way, I can also cook only two at I time so I don't eat the entire batch. Glad you are feeling better.

We have the same problem with cookies or anything like that at our house. Once they're baked, it's like a race to see how fast we can eat them!
