Mother's Day

I had an absolutely fabulous Mother's Day! Jason and the kids made it so very memorable and happy for me.

It started with an excellent sleep-in followed by an excellent breakfast. Jason made me some french toast and broccoli eggs (with cheese....love 'em). My favorite part of the meal was when Jason was putting my food on the "You Are Special" plate and Graham was super ticked that he didn't have one, too. Apparently, he missed the Mother's Day memo explaining that it's my day, not his. Lucy was trying to make Graham happy, so she got out paper plates and wrote his name on it. As you can probably guess, Graham continued to cry and I had to smile at the ironic moment I was experiencing.

Lucy went shopping with Jason and got me some great gifts. The rockin' sunglasses I'm wearing, a pack of gum, and a precious picture telling me how awesome I am. Who wouldn't love that loot?

After church, Lucy made me lunch and I got to take a long, uninterrupted nap.

The best part of the day came after naptime. We had our friends, the Cowley's, over for some amazing sweet and sour chicken, courtesy of Jason. He also made some homemade ice cream that we all enjoyed together.

After the Cowley's left, we got out the microphone from our Rock Band set and Lucy sang a few songs that she wrote for me. Love that girl!

Graham wanted to sing me a tune or two, too.

I was able to talk them into singing me a couple primary songs together.

Ben thought it was pretty fun, too.

Jason surprised me with tickets to see SugarLand in concert next month! We're going to have a little weekend away in San Diego. So excited and sooo surprised!

During all the talks at church I get a little sad that I don't get to spend the day with my mom. I would love to give her a big hug and have some time to share with her and the rest of my family. I am so blessed to have her as my mother. She helps me through so many tough times and helps me keep perspective as I raise my kiddos.

During another meeting at church, I got to thinking about my mother-in-law and wishing I had been able to get to know her better. What a special lady she was and I'm so grateful for the wonderful son she raised.

A fabulous day with my sweet little family.
